Philip's background is in Biology and Chemistry (University of Alberta, BSc. '09). He started as one of Dr. Wishart's summer students, purifying protein for the Prion Structure, Function and Dynamics Project. He is currently preparing and analyzing NMR, HPLC, DI-MS and GC-MS samples for The Metabolomics Innovation Centre, and has worked on the Human Metabolome Project. He is also involved in several database projects including Drugbank, the Small Molecules Pathway Database (SMPDB), Human Metabolome Database (HMDB), and has contributed to the Yeast Metabolome Database (YMDB) and Toxin, Toxin-Target Database (t3db).
