Research interests:
My research focus is on targeting the gaps in preanalytical sample preparation of stool with a specific focus on the impacts of sample storage (fresh, frozen, or lyophilized) on the volatile and non-volatile metabolome, optimization of fecal sample homogenization, and assessment of ambient temperature metabolite stabilization chemistries. This work is supported through a MITACS Accelerate fellowship in collaboration with DNA Genotek. I’ve also worked on metabolomic profiling of other biological samples such as urine, algae, and crab tissues.
